LinkedIn is an online website where professionals go to network on the internet. A L.A. Times article recently reported that LinkedIn has more than 23 million uses in over 150 countries. In the same story, LinkedIn was valued at over 1 billion dollars.

So, as a netrepreneur how can Linkedin help you? Guy Kawasaki has a great blog post Ten Ways to Use LinkedIn to explain exactly that.

However, the jest of using Linkedin is to make connections. It is one of the few social networking sites that is very effective with its mission. Think of it as the “Kevin Bacon six degrees of separation” for online world to get in contact with a decision maker to joint venture with or say “yes” to your idea or even land a new job.

Another unique feature of LinkedIn is it is a “very grown up” site. You won’t find boisterous music or kids falling off skateboards here. What you will find is fellow netrepreneur’s profiles that are basically the internet’s version of their online resume.

So if you want to get connected and use the internet to actually make money online, then you need to get yourself a LinkedIn profile. Take advantage of every connection you know and invite them to join you on LinkedIn. Here is a tip, don’t forget family and friends because they can be a huge resource to help get you started.
